MedCenter One, a health system based in Bismarck and Mandan, N.D., and Sanford Health based in Fargo, N.D., and Sioux Falls, S.D., have signed a non-binding letter of intent and agreed to a memorandum of understanding for a potential merger.
Both organizations are evaluating how a combined organization would benefit patients and their communities. Regulatory filings with the Federal Trade Commission and the North Dakota Office of the Attorney General are moving forward as well.
MedCenter One and Sanford Health's boards will make a final decision about the merger this summer.
