Queen's Health Systems, North Hawaii Community Hospital Finalize Affiliation

The Queen's Health Systems in Honolulu has signed a definitive affiliation agreement with North Hawaii Community Hospital in Kamuela.

According to the deal, which is subject to state review, Queen's will become the corporate parent of North Hawaii Community Hospital, effective Jan. 1. Other terms of the affiliation were considered to be "confidential."

The Queen's Health Systems has had a clinical affiliation with 33-bed North Hawaii Community Hospital since 2005. The two nonprofits signed an initial deal to affiliate in June.

Queen's has two other hospitals — The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu and Molokai General Hospital in Kaunakakai, Hawaii. North Hawaii Community Hospital gives Queen's its first presence on Hawaii's Big Island.
