Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare called off a deal to acquire five hospitals in Connecticut last year, and now Los Angeles-based Prospect Medical Holdings is taking over three of them, according to a CT Mirror report.
PMH is already in the process of acquiring Waterbury (Conn.) Hospital, and the for-profit system announced plans last week to acquire Rockville General in Vernon, Conn., and Manchester (Conn.) Memorial. Rockville General and Manchester Memorial are both part of Eastern Connecticut Health Network.
The terms of the sale of Rockville General and Manchester Memorial to PMH will be reviewed by ECHN's governing body and voted on this summer.
PMH operates 13 hospitals and 40 clinics and outpatient centers in California, Texas and Rhode Island.
