Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare and WellStar Health System, also in Atlanta, have announced a partnership to create the Georgia Health Collaborative.
The Georgia Health Collaborative will establish services and initiatives focusing on the development of healthcare delivery models, economically aligned physician relationships and create service line cost savings. In the collaborative, the health systems will share intellectual knowledge on clinical care and seek cost reductions through economies of scale.
The two health systems will remain independent and together will serve a primary service area population of more than three million. Georgia Health Collaborative may add affiliate hospitals or health systems in the future.
Frank Lordeman, managing partner and CEO of Lordeman & Associates, will serve as the executive director of the Collaborative.
