New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C., is considering a new relationship with Charlotte, N.C.-based Carolinas HealthCare System, according to a StarNews Online report.
Currently, NHRMC Physician Group receives practice management services, including billing and collections and coding and cash management, from the Carolinas Physician Network. Although the details of the companies' new relationship have not been finalized, New Hanover Regional spokeswoman Martha Harlan said local control of the hospital would remain unchanged.
"There is no sale. There's no lease. There's no acquisition. There's no merger," she said.
The Carolinas HealthCare System owns, leases or manages 33 hospitals in North and South Carolina.
