Albuquerque, N.M.-based Lovelace Health System has signed a definitive agreement to purchase the assets and operations of Albuquerque's 55-bed Heart Hospital of New Mexico from Charlotte, N.C.-based MedCath, according to a health system news release.
Lovelace Health System, which is owned by Nashville, Tenn.-based Ardent Health Services, will pay $119 million for the hospital. Under the acquisition, the Heart Hospital will become part of the Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque to provide greater access to the Heart Hospital and increase the hospital's efficiencies and access to capital.
