The Muscogee (Creek) Nation, one of the largest Native American tribes in Oklahoma, has acquired Okmulgee (Okla.) Memorial Hospital, according to a News on 6 report.
The board of directors for the 66-bed Okmulgee Memorial transferred ownership of the hospital to the Creek Nation last week, but terms of the deal were not released, according to the report.
The Creek Nation plans to enhance cardiology, oncology and obstetrics services at Okmulgee Memorial and eventually build a replacement hospital at a different location.
