Lenoir Memorial Hospital Seeks Strategic Partner

Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston, N.C., has begun searching for a strategic partnership with another hospital, health system or hospital company to enhance healthcare services and better serve the community.

The Lenoir Memorial board is directing the partner review process with the aid of Juniper Advisory, a Chicago-based financial advisory firm, to ensure all options and types of partnerships are considered, according to a news release.

"We believe now, when Lenoir Memorial is financially strong, is the right time to look for a strategic partner," Ray Collier, chairman of the Lenoir Memorial board, said in the release.  "We can evaluate our choices from a position of strength and allow ourselves time to conduct a thoughtful and thorough review on our own terms."

The hospital expects to begin confidential discussions with potential partners in spring 2014. The process is expected to take 12 to 21 months once those discussions have begun, according to the release.
