Jupiter (Fla.) Medical Center and Miami Children's Hospital have formed an affiliation that will make JMC the primary pediatric partner for Miami Children's.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The partnership will be implemented in two phases during the course of the next six months. First, JMC will install telehealth technology in its emergency department so Miami Children's physicians can interact with JMC's physicians and patients remotely. Both organizations will also combine their pediatric therapy programs and collaborate on JMC's urgent care center, pediatric imaging and outpatient surgery.
The final phase involves creating a Level II neonatal intensive care unit and an inpatient pediatric wing at JMC.
JMC is a nonprofit hospital with 283 beds, including 163 private acute-care beds. Miami Children's has 289 beds.
