Philadelphia-based Thomas Jefferson Health System and Independence Blue Cross have announced a new multi-year agreement to partner on a healthcare innovation initiative, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Here are four things to know about the partnership, according to the report.
1. The $2 million partnership is called the Independence Blue Cross-Jefferson Health Innovation Collaboration.
2. The partnership will be paid for by IBC's BlueCrossCenter for Health Care Innovation and Jefferson's Innovation Pillar.
3. The partnership establishes an entrepreneur-in-residence at Jefferson and pays for a fall 2015 "hackathon," an entrepreneurship curriculum, as well as a business speaker series for medical students and faculty.
4. The agreement takes effect July 1.
