Jefferson Health, Crozer partner to grow neurological care

Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health has entered into a service agreement with Upland, Pa.-based Crozer Health to provide neurological care services in Pennsylvania's Delaware County.

Jefferson Health's specialists began delivering neurosurgery and neurocritical care on Crozer-Chester Medical Center's campus Jan. 15, according to a Crozer Health press release shared with Becker's.

"This new relationship allows Jefferson Health to bring critical care to Crozer Health's patients that they otherwise wouldn't be able to access," Baligh Yehia, MD, president of Jefferson Health, said in the release.

The service expansions will provide patients with traumatic injuries affecting the brain and spine or those with neurological disorders an array of the latest innovations.

A nonprofit health system, Jefferson Health has over 42,000 employees. It comprises 17 hospitals and over 50 outpatient and urgent care locations.

Owned by Prospect Medical Holdings, Crozer Health features 4,429 employees, with 1,116 providers on staff, according to its website. It features four hospitals and multiple outpatient facilities.
