Indiana University Health Fort Wayne has purchased 137 acres of land in Fort Wayne, paving the way for a new inpatient facility, according to The Journal Gazette.
Brian Bauer, IU Health Fort Wayne's president, told the Gazette that IU Health Fort Wayne's goal is to provide a full spectrum of services to the community.
Mr. Bauer described the recent groundbreaking of an outpatient surgery center as step two of its plan to offer more services to the community. He added that step three is adding inpatient care.
"We are well on our way on that path," he said.
