Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, La., and New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System have formed a long-term partnership focused on increasing local access to specialty care, expanding telemedicine services and the overall growth of services in the Northeast Louisiana region.
Through the partnership, GRMC will become part of the Ochsner Health Network, and the two organizations will focus on alignment to start new programs and the expansion of services in the region, among other things.
"Our services have grown tremendously and we are a strong organization, but through this partnership, we are now stronger. It is a proactive step to further expand our offerings and improve quality, while offering access to higher acuity healthcare closer to home," Matt Roberts, CEO of GRMC, said in a prepared statement.
Warner Thomas, president and CEO of Ochsner, shared Mr. Roberts' excitement about the deal.
"We are proud to have Glenwood Regional Medical Center as a partner in the Ochsner Health Network," said Mr. Thomas. "To ensure that the highest quality healthcare is maintained across our state, Ochsner has taken the proactive step to build these partnerships with the highest quality organizations in each market statewide. Together, and with our other OHN members, we will share best practices and resources to expand our ability to deliver additional services to both patients and physicians across Louisiana and the region."
