Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark., is roughly two years into its three-year management contract with Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Mo., but Fulton County Hospital board members have decided to terminate the partnership early, according to an Area Wide News report.
OMC took over Fulton County Hospital's management in 2011 and had been credited with helping the hospital lower costs on supplies and other operations. However, this past March, some hospital employees and community members said OMC had contributed to "patient care problems and low employee morale," according to the report.
Fulton County Hospital administrators attempted to resolve the issues, but several board meetings resulted in an early termination between the two parties.
