Community Memorial Hospital in Hicksville, Ohio, has decided to end its affiliation with Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Lutheran Health Network, according to a report from The Journal Gazette.
The hospital decided to sever its ties with Lutheran to underscore its independence as it urges voters to approve a tax levy in November, according to the report. Over the course of five years, the levy would bring in $600,000 the hospital plans to use for capital projects. Hospital officials said the split with Lutheran was amicable, according to the report.
Through its formal affiliation with Lutheran, Community Memorial purchased services such as strategic planning and physician recruitment, according to the report.
