The City Commission of San Benito, Texas, approved the sale of Dolly Vinsant Memorial Hospital in San Benito, according to a Brownsville Herald report.
The Southern Counties Investment Group of Brownsville paid $296,530 for the facility. The purchase price was $10,000 and the remaining payment was back taxes owed to Cameroun County, the city of San Benito and the San Benito school district, according to the report.
Dolly Vinsant Memorial closed in October 2007. Southern Counties Investment Group plans to open a new medical facility in the building. According to the report, most of the city officials are happy the building will be used.
