Chilton Medical Center in Alabama Loses License, Seeks New Owner

Chilton Medical Center in Clanton, Ala., is seeking a new owner following the suspension of its license, according to a San Francisco Chronicle report.

The Alabama Department of Health issued an emergency order to suspend the hospital's license earlier this week when the facility was unable to meet its payroll. The hospital's license could be permanently revoked, but Ted Chapin, CEO of Chilton Medical, hopes to provide a financial plan for reopening the facility at a Nov. 8 meeting with the health department.

According to the report, the hospital officials must demonstrate the hospital's financial problems are solved at the upcoming meeting. Hospital officials believe the solution may be finding a new owner, according to the report.
