Robert Wood Johnson Health System, which has flagship hospital campuses in New Brunswick, N.J., and Somerset, N.J., is exploring a partnership with West Orange, N.J.-based Barnabas Health, according to an nj.com report.
Although the CEOs of both systems confirmed they are eyeing a partnership, they didn't offer any details as to how the two systems would collaborate, according to the report.
"We are actively in discussions with Barnabas about ways we can increase our service to the community," said Stephen K. Jones, CEO of Robert Wood Johnson Health System.
Barry H. Ostrowsky, president and CEO of Barnabas Health, released a statement regarding a potential deal. "At present, Barnabas Health and Robert Wood Johnson Health System are meeting to discuss potential collaboration between our healthcare systems," he said.
