Pending local court approval, Baptist Health Medical Center – Little Rock (Ark.) will become the new operator of Hot Spring County Medical Center in Malvern, Ark., according to an Arkansas Business report.
The 72-bed, county-owned HSC Medical Center has been looking for a partner since early 2012 due to cuts in Medicare and Medicaid revenue, according to the report. If the Hot Spring County Quorum Court approves the deal, Baptist Health would enter into a sublease agreement with the hospital and county.
HSC Medical Center considered two other partners — Arkansas Heart Hospital and St. Vincent Health System, both based in Little Rock but owned by out-of-state entities — before choosing Baptist Health.
The report did not indicate when the court would rule on the matter.
