AHMC Healthcare, a Southern California-based integrated health system, is the new owner of Parkview Community Hospital Medical Center in Riverside, Calif.
System officials announced the ownership transfer and completed acquisition July 8.
"I am excited to welcome Parkview Community Hospital Medical Center and its dedicated employees and physicians to our family of hospitals," said Jonathan Wu, MD, chairman of AHMC Healthcare, which manages Doctors Hospital of Riverside, in a news release "We are committed to helping ensure the long-term future of Parkview and providing sufficient resources to continue its mission and vision."
AHMC Healthcare began managing Parkview in February, the month after the California attorney general approved the transaction.
The system was managing the facility until the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development formally signed off on the transfer of loans. With the department's approval last month, AHMC completed its acquisition and took ownership of Parkview July 1.
Officials said AHMC and Doctors Hospital of Riverside have made various commitments under the deal, including pledges to maintain Parkview as an acute care hospital with a 24-hour emergency department, invest at least $25 million in the hospital over the next seven years and complete the emergency department expansion.
