Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth and Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Wake Forest Baptist Health are in talks to expand services at AdventHealth's hospital in Hendersonville, N.C.
The health systems signed a letter of intent to discuss adding new services at AdventHealth Hendersonville and having Wake Forest Baptist physicians staff certain specialty services at the hospital. Under the agreement, AdventHealth would remain the primary owner and operator of the hospital, and Wake Forest Baptist would hold a minority interest with participation on its board.
The new agreement would expand an existing partnership between the two systems. Physicians from Wake Forest Baptist already provide care in AdventHealth Hendersonville's emergency department.
The systems expect to finalize the agreement, which is subject to regulatory approval, in the next few months.
