1. City finalizes purchase of shuttered 156-bed Ohio hospital
The city of Massillon, Ohio, completed its purchase of Massillon-based Affinity Medical Center — which closed earlier this year — and its related assets.
2. Advocate Children's, NorthShore University HealthSystem to partner: 3 takeaways
Oak Lawn, Ill.-based Advocate Children's Hospital and Evanston, Ill.-based NorthShore University HealthSystem announced their intent to form a strategic partnership to expand pediatric care statewide May 16.
3. 2 Partners HealthCare hospitals, Exeter Health Resources to develop regional care network
Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital, Dover, N.H.-based Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and Exeter (N.H.) Health Resources signed a letter of intent to develop a regional healthcare network for the Seacoast Region, Partners HealthCare announced May 15.
4. California hospital up for sale following toxicology lab shutdown
Ongoing financial struggles and debt have led the Palm Drive Health Care District to issue a request for proposals for the sale of Sebastopol, Calif.-based Sonoma West Medical Center.
5. 2-hospital Pennsylvania system to affiliate with Ohio Valley Hospital
Heritage Valley Health System, a two-hospital system in Beaver, Pa., announced its intent to affiliate with Kennedy Township, Pa.-based Ohio Valley Hospital May 14.
6. CHS moves closer to divesting 85-bed Tennessee hospital
West Palm Beach, Fla.-based Rennova Health announced May 14 it expects to close a deal to acquire 85-bed Tennova Healthcare-Jamestown (Tenn.) from Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems on June 1.
