The following hospital mergers, acquisitions and general transactions took place within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Prime finalizes purchase of St. Mary's Hospital
Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services completed its acquisition of St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic, N.J.

2. Alexian Brothers Health System, Loyola University Health System to affiliate
Arlington Height, Ill.-based Alexian Brothers Health System and Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola University Health System signed a letter of intent to affiliate to expand their pediatric service lines.

3. Prime Healthcare, Daughters of Charity Health reportedly considering merger
Ontario, Calif.-based for-profit Prime Healthcare Services is rumored to be a potential buyer for Daughters of Charity Health System, a six-hospital network based in Los Altos Hills, Calif.

4. Aurora Health Care, Bay Area Medical Center enter into partnership

Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care and Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, Wis., entered into a partnership that gives Aurora a minority stake in BAMC.

5. Molina Healthcare to acquire Florida Medicaid assets from First Coast Advantage
Long Beach, Calif.-based Molina Healthcare, through its subsidiary Molina Healthcare of Florida, entered into an agreement with First Coast Advantage — a Provider Service Network affiliated with the University of Florida Jacksonville Healthcare and UF Health Jacksonville —  to acquire certain assets from First Coast and assume the company's Medicaid contract.
