1. Tennessee AG Approves Mountain States' Acquisition of Unicoi Hospital
The Tennessee Attorney General's office issued a letter of no action concerning Johnson City, Tenn.-based Mountain States Health Alliance's proposed purchase of Unicoi County Memorial Hospital in Erwin, Tenn.
2. SSM Wants to Exit Management Contract With Bankrupt Oklahoma Hospital
SSM Health Care of Oklahoma, a subsidiary of St. Louis-based SSM Health Care, is reportedly looking to back out of its management agreement with Pauls Valley (Okla.) General Hospital, which filed for bankruptcy earlier this year.
3. Conway Regional Health System Searches for Affiliation Partner
Conway (Ark.) Regional Health System launched a formal search for an affiliation partner.
4. LifePoint Adds Fauquier Health
Fauquier Health in Warrenton, Va., officially joined Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Hospitals, as both parties finalized their joint venture agreement.
5. Alameda Health System Officially Acquires San Leandro Hospital
Oakland, Calif.-based Alameda Health System officially assumed ownership of San Leandro (Calif.) Hospital from Sutter Health in Sacramento, Calif.
6. Duke LifePoint, WestCare to Form Partnership
WestCare Health System, based in Sylva, N.C., decided to partner with Duke LifePoint Healthcare, a joint venture of Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Health System and Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Hospitals.
7. Rush University Medical Center Completes Acquisition of Oak Park Hospital
Rush University Medical Center in Chicago completed its acquisition of Rush Oak Park (Ill.) Hospital, completing a deal 15 years in the making.
8. Geisinger, Lewistown Hospital Merger Gets Green Light
The Pennsylvania Department of Health and Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane gave the go-ahead to the merger between Danville-based Geisinger Health System and Lewistown (Pa.) Hospital.
9. Potential Tulare Health Care District Partners Down to 4
The number of healthcare organizations interested in a potential affiliation, joint venture or partnership with Tulare (Calif.) Regional Medical Center, a 112-bed public hospital, dropped to four.
10. Rhode Island Approves Prime's Acquisition of Landmark Medical Center
The Rhode Island Department of Health approved Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services' purchase of Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, R.I.
11. Buyer Emerges for Lake Shore Health Care Center
In October, Lake Shore Health Care Center in Irving, N.Y., announced plans to close in January, but a company reportedly is willing to buy the 220-bed hospital.
