Washington's Valley General Enters Into Discussions With Providence Regional

Valley General Hospital in Monroe, Wash., is entering into discussions about a potential partnership with Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Wash., according to a hospital news release.

Over the next 60 days the two hospitals will develop non-binding terms for the partnership. If they reach an agreement, the partnership could be finalized by this fall. The partnership may help Valley General expand its range of services, respond to new federal programs, provide access to new resources, continue to care for vulnerable populations and increase opportunities to recruit and retain skilled medical staff, according to the release.

Valley General chose Providence Regional over three other hospitals for its similar mission and strategic direction and its presence in the community. Valley General issued a Request for Proposals for a potential partner in Nov. 2010 and again this February.
