Logan Medical Center in Guthrie, Okla., and Oklahoma City-based Mercy Health System are in a process of due diligence as Mercy assumes ownership of Logan Hospital, according to an Edmond Sun report.
Rick Blankenship, chairman of the board of Logan County Medical Center, said Mercy and Logan are approximately three-fourths of the way through the due diligence process, according to the report. Mercy was chosen as the leading candidate to assume ownership of the hospital last month.
"It's not a done deal. We have essentially agreed that we like each other," Mr. Blankenship said in the report. "We believe that Mercy would be a great addition to the community and they've shown a strong willingness to invest in the future of healthcare for Logan Medical Center."
