St. Joseph, Mich.-based Lakeland HealthCare and Community Hospital in Watervliet, Mich., has signed a letter of intent to merge, according to a Business Review West Michigan report.
Under the deal, 58-bed Community Hospital would become part of the health system. The change should not require a certificate of need, according to the report.
The two groups announced they would pursue a merger in August and began performing due diligence at that time.
