4. The hospital has 1,682 total employees.  

5. In 2011, the hospital performed 5,200 inpatient surgeries, 2,700 outpatient surgeries and 1,800 births, and had 65,200 outpatient visits, 24,500 non-admitted emergency department visits and 19,000 admitted emergency department visits.  

6. In 2011, the hospital recorded $1.3 billion in gross charges and $27 million in net income, according to the American Hospital Directory.

7. In 2013, the hospital received a Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence from Healthgrades.

8. Lutheran Medical Center began in 1905 as a sanitarium, and by 1962 had evolved into an acute-care, community hospital.

9. The hospital's 700 volunteers give over 95,000 hours of service annually.

10. The hospital was originally founded as a tent colony for tuberculosis patients.
