The demand for changes to medical school curriculum has been growing in recent years, and although schools are starting to make changes, many medical professionals want to see more.
In a LinkedIn poll, Becker's asked: Which element is missing most from medical education?
The poll received 279 votes and was conducted Nov. 19. Becker's does not have insights on the respondents' organizations or roles.
The results:
Faculty shortage protocols: 38 percent
Deep dives into topics: 27 percent
Other (comment below): 20 percent
Residency program updates: 15 percent
In the comments, participants listed a number of other elements they wanted to see in medical education with a few recurring ideas: value-based care, the business of healthcare, and medical law.
