Memphis (Tenn.) Obstetrics and Gynecological Association absorbed Women's Health Specialists in Germantown, Tenn., effective Feb. 1, according to Commercial Appeal.
When the merger is official, Women's Health Specialists will be a division of the Memphis Obstetrics and Gynecological Association, allowing it to retain location and branding.
The transaction creates a 39-provider group, which will be a new heavyweight in the Memphis area's obstetrics landscape. The region has seen an uptick in consolidation among all healthcare providers, including both hospitals and physician practices, according to the report.
