The New York State Department of Health has awarded South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, N.Y., a grant of $303,187 to help train and place physicians in underserved areas of the state.
The money was awarded under the Doctors Across New York Ambulatory Care Training Program. South Nassau was one of 17 hospitals to receive funding.
South Nassau will use the funds to expand training opportunities for medical residents and to educate students at ambulatory care sites.
