Saint Francis, UConn School of Medicine Open Primary Care Innovation Center

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Conn., and the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington have opened the Connecticut Institute for Primary Care Innovation on Saint Francis' main campus.

The CIPCI's goals are to improve primary care education, increase retention of primary care providers and conduct research on primary care delivery.

The CIPCI space has a collaborative theater to support training and teaching of care providers and a simulation studio that allows for analysis of patient flow and office redesign as well as simulations to improve procedural skills and teamwork.

CIPCI governance is shared between Saint Francis and UConn School of Medicine.
