The American Board of Internal Medicine and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education have launched a searchable, sortable online CME Finder.
Physicians can use the web-based tool to find activities registered for Maintenance of Certification credit by provider, type, date, participation fee and whether registration is restricted to a specific group or not. The CME Finder builds on ABIM and ACCME's 2015 collaboration that expanded MOC options for physicians.
"Thousands of physicians are benefiting from our continued collaboration with ACCME that recognizes activities they are already doing. To date, physicians have earned about 3 million MOC points in accredited CME activities," Richard J. Baron, MD, president and CEO of ABIM, said in a statement. "We are expanding our collaboration to encourage CME providers to continue to innovate and create educational activities that blend medical knowledge and practice assessment opportunities, which allows us to seamlessly recognize a physician's journey through self-directed learning."
Next spring the two organizations also plan to expand CME opportunities.
