Effective March 1, Mercy, the 32-hospital system based in Chesterfield, Mo., and Hermann (Mo.) Area District Hospital will enhance physician collaboration to better treat critically ill patients in central Missouri.
Under the affiliation, more Mercy Clinic physicians located in the Hermann area will help transfer patients with critical illness or injury from HADH to Mercy Hospital Washington (Mo.). Mercy Clinic is Mercy's physician-governed group that includes more than 1,900 physicians across four states.
HADH, a 24-bed critical access hospital, said the partnership will benefit patients who require immediate attention, since the 187-bed Mercy Hospital Washington is the only Level III trauma center between St. Louis and Jefferson City.
Other aspects of Mercy's and HADH's partnership include consulting services, staff training and access to telemedicine.
