Members of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin have proposed a legislative agenda that would help end the nation's growing physician shortage, according to a Silicon India News report.
The legislation includes green card provision for physicians graduating from United States' residency programs. AAPI also suggested making the J-1 visa waiver program permanent. The program allows international medical graduates to do their medical residency and training in the U.S., according to the report.
