Heart Care Centers of Illinois, a cardiology group, has left Morris (Ill.) Hospital and Healthcare Centers, according to a Morris Daily Herald report.
The practice submitted a leave of absence for an unknown amount of time with the hospital, closed its Morris office and moved to Joliet, Ill., where the physicians are working at area hospitals.
The reason for the practice's move is unclear, however. George Aziz, MD, a cardiologist with HCCI who worked full-time at the hospital, said the practice moved because of financial, clinical and management issues at Morris Hospital. Joseph Stella, MD, a more senior member of the practice, said it left only because its previous office was too small, according to the report.
