The Florida Department of Health has approved the opening of four new trauma centers, all to be operated by HCA, according to a Gulf Coast Business Review report.
The centers will provide trauma services for patients in Pasco, Manatee, Clay and Miami-Dade counties.
Although state officials granted approval of the centers, the decision is likely to be appealed by competing hospitals. If appealed, an administrative law judge would review the state department's decision, according to the News Service of Florida.
