Three obstetricians and gynecologists with Finger Lakes Medical Associates, a multi-specialty practice in Geneva, N.Y., are terminating their relationship with Geneva (N.Y.) General Hospital, effective May 1, according to a YNN report.
The three specialists will instead practice at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital in Newark, N.Y. Finger Lakes Medical Associates cited inadequate weekend staffing as well as difficulty recruiting physicians for the Geneva General OB-GYN program as reasons for the change, according to YNN.
Because the specialists will no longer practice at Geneva General, the hospital will discontinue delivering babies in May, according to the report.
