Florida to Gain 325 Residency Positions to Alleviate Physician Shortage

Of the more than 1,300 federally funded residency positions that CMS is redistributing, Florida is gaining 325, more than any other state, according to a Miami Herald report.

Florida is getting more new residencies to help battle the physician shortage in the state, the report said. Sixteen state hospitals are gaining slots. Tallahassee (Fla.) Memorial Hospital and Florida Hospital in Orlando are gaining the most positions, 78 and 69, respectively.
