Colorado mental health hospital gets 2nd immediate jeopardy citation in less than 1 year

Johnstown (Colo.) Heights Behavioral Health has been hit with an immediate jeopardy citation, the second one it has been issued since November 2022, ABC affiliate KMGH reported July 4.

An April investigation following patient reports of being held at the facility longer than necessary and other patient safety concerns — including one report of a patient being carried out by her arms and legs and dumped in a parking lot — led to the latest findings, according to the news outlet.

The immediate jeopardy citation the facility was issued in late 2022 was resolved after it took corrective action toward the problems including by providing staff with more training.

Now, it must do the same in order to restore compliance once again, or risk losing funding.
