Aetna, ProHealth Physicians Collaborate for Accountable Care

Aetna and Farmington, Conn.-based ProHealth Physicians, a healthcare delivery system with more than 300 primary care providers, have announced an accountable care collaboration.

The collaboration will utilize Healthagen, a division of Aetna offering health management solutions and HIT. ProHealth will use Healthagen's population health management and integrated care solutions to identify patients who could benefit from clinical programs and health interventions.

"ProHealth is committed to achieving the triple aims of improved patient outcomes, increased patient satisfaction and improved cost-effectiveness. We look forward to collaborating with Aetna in support of these efforts," C. Todd Staub, MD, chairman of ProHealth, said in a news release.

The collaboration will include Medicare and privately insured patients and will support ProHealth's participation in the Medicare Shared Savings Program. Patients in the collaboration include Aetna's commercial members as well as Medicare Advantage members who receive care from ProHealth.
