Aetna, NAMM Form Accountable Care Collaboration

Aetna and Ontario, Calif.-based North American Medical Management, California, a network that brings together 16 physician organizations and includes more than 575 primary care physicians and 9,000 specialists, have announced the formation of an accountable care collaboration and PrimeCare Physicians Plans, health plans designed for small and mid-sized businesses with employees in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

The plans provide healthcare in a new delivery model designed to offer coordinated care, lower co-pays for patients seeing designated providers and better healthcare outcomes.

Aetna and PrimeCare have implemented a risk-sharing agreement that will compensate and reward PrimeCare physicians when they achieve quality, efficiency and patient satisfaction measures.
