Oak Brook, Ill.-based Advocate Medical Group, the physician arm of Advocate Health Care, has agreed to acquire Oak Lawn, Ill.-based MidAmerica Cardiovascular Consultants for $3.5 million, according to a Crain's Chicago Business report.
Advocate has agreed to employ the group's 23 physicians under five-year agreements, according to the report.
The deal was made public disclosed in a complaint filed by a former physician of the group, who claims the deal would make MidAmerica insolvent and unable to pay the money he claims the practice owes him, according to the report.
