South Carolina's AnMed Health to Eliminate 185 Positions

AnMed Health in Anderson, S.C., is preparing to eliminate 185 positions, which is projected to save $5.2 million in its upcoming fiscal year, according to an Anderson Independent Mail report.

Officials at the health system said they need enough people to take an offer of "voluntary separation," or the layoffs will be enacted, the report said.

According to the report, up to 73 vacant jobs in nonclinical areas would be the first to go. After that, hospital officials hope people will accept severance packages, which will equal a week's pay for every year of employment, up to 12.
