Coalition Urges House Committee to "Move Forward" With NLRB Policy Provisions

In a letter addressed to the House Appropriations Committee, the Coalition for a Democratic Workplace has urged committee members to "move forward" with policy changes featured in the departments of Labor and Health and Human Services' draft funding bill for fiscal year 2012, according to an AHA News Now report.

The provisions include a long list of policy changes, including a new policy that would stop the National Labor Relations Board from eliminating secret ballot elections and instituting an electronic card check procedure for union elections.

CDW, which is a group of more than 600 organizations, including the American Hospital Association, argues the policy provisions in the draft funding bill are "critically necessary" and failure to move forward with the provisions will lead to "serious negative ramifications for millions of employers."
