Vanguard Health Systems Cuts Corporate Workforce by 10%

Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanguard Health Systems has cut 10 percent of its corporate workforce as it eliminated or shifted certain functions to its regional systems, according to a The Tennessean report.

The layoffs affected 21 employees.

"All of the growth over the last few years really created the need to review corporate vs. regional functions and put some of those functions closer to patients — where the care is being redelivered," Tess Coody, a spokeswoman with Vanguard's San Antonio-based Baptist Health, said in the report.
