University of Iowa Board of Regents Considers Plans for New $271M Children's Hospital

The University of Iowa Board of Regents will consider plans to develop a new $271 million children's hospital in Iowa City, according to a WQAD report.

The 11-story facility would consolidate UI Hospitals and Clinics' pediatric services and would be funded using the health system's revenues, some borrowing and a $50 million fundraising campaign, according to the report.

If the plan is approved, construction would begin later this year, according to the report.
