Rochester, N.Y.-based Unity Health System is eliminating a total of 72 management, supervisory and support positions at its Unity Hospital and three nursing homes, according to a Democrat and Chronicle report.
Thirty of those 72 positions were vacant and four employees were moved to other positions within the health system, according to the report.
The system, which employed 5,400 people prior to this round of cuts, said the eliminations are not the start of any large-scale workforce reduction but an adjustment in operations.
