TGH North, a new division of Tampa General Hospital, has appointed a board of managers for its TGH Brooksville and TGH Spring Hill hospitals.
TGH North formed Dec. 1 when Tampa General acquired the Bravera Health network from Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems for $294 million. TGH North includes three hospitals, one freestanding emergency department, two ambulatory surgery centers and 10 primary and specialty care clinics in Citrus and Hernando counties.
The board, which had its inaugural meeting April 17, will serve as a guide for leadership and oversee hospital operations.
"The new board brings the full complement of expertise to the table, including healthcare specialists and community leaders, to ensure that we're on target to meet the needs of this community, while honoring its history and traditions," said John Couris, chair of the board at TGH North and president and CEO of Tampa General.
The board of managers includes Lisa Allen-Khalil, MD, Roderick Bennett, MD, M. Rodwan Hiba, MD, and Frank Morsani, as well as representatives of the Florida Health Sciences Center, under which Tampa General operates.
The following TGH leaders will serve on the TGH North board: Phil Dingle, past board chair at Florida Health Sciences Center; John Touchton, former board chair of FHSC; Mark Runyon, CFO of Tampa General; and Adam Smith, chief ambulatory care officer at Tampa General.
