Officials at Steward Health Care System, the Boston-based, for-profit health system, said they will outsource security services at Saint Anne's Hospital, a Steward hospital located in Fall River, Mass., according to a Herald News report.
An unidentified number of security personnel will be affected by the decision, but a Steward spokesperson told the Herald News all hospital security employees will be offered positions at the newly contracted company, APG Security, with current compensation levels and health insurance. Those who decide to not join APG will receive severance pay.
Steward cited the outsourcing as necessary to "reduce administrative expenses," according to the report.
